Zoom Phone plans
What the service costs
Approximate US prices per user, per month. Zoom sets these and bills them; we help you choose and set them up. Taxes and regulatory fees are extra and usually add 10–20%.
Metered
- Unlimited inbound calls
- Outbound billed per minute (about 3¢ in the US)
- Good for a home line that mostly receives calls
Unlimited
- Unlimited calling in the US & Canada
- Business texting (SMS/MMS)
- What we recommend for most homes and offices
Global Select
- Unlimited calling in one of 48 countries
- Includes a local number in that country
- For teams with staff or customers abroad
Zoom also bundles Phone with its Workplace plans (meetings, chat and phone together) from roughly $18–$22/user/month. Ask us which is cheaper for you.
Setups we install
Find the one that fits
Home phone
Typical: 1 number, 1–4 handsets
Move your landline number to Zoom. Your house phones keep working through a small adapter, and calls also ring your cell.
- Spam blocking and voicemail transcription
- Cheaper than most copper landlines
Home office
Typical: 1–2 numbers, 1 desk phone
A separate business number that rings a desk phone, your laptop and your cell, with business hours so it stops ringing at dinner.
- Keep personal and business calls apart
- Wi-Fi desk phone means no new cable
Small business system
Typical: 3–50 users
Main number, auto receptionist, extensions, ring groups and call queues. Desk phones on every desk and the app on every phone.
- "Press 1 for sales, 2 for service"
- Holiday and after-hours routing
- Call recording and reports
Multiple locations & remote staff
Typical: 2+ sites or hybrid teams
One phone system across every office and every home. Transfer calls between locations with a 3-digit extension, and keep local numbers for each site.
- Each site gets its own 911 address
- Remote staff need only the app or a phone
Copper line replacement
Typical: 1–20 POTS lines
Phone companies are allowed to retire copper lines, and many are raising prices on the ones left. We inventory every line on your bill, move what you need and cancel what you don't.
- Keep your numbers, phones and inside wiring
- Planned cutover date, no gap in service
Keep your existing phones
Analog phones, cordless sets, older key systems
Grandstream adapters (ATAs) plug into your network and give your existing phones a Zoom Phone line. Cordless phones, wall phones and many analog key systems keep working.
- 2-port adapters from about $54, 4-port about $114
- Proprietary digital PBX phones usually can't be reused; we'll tell you up front
Keep your existing phone system
On-site PBX with years of life left
If you just replaced your PBX, we can connect it to Zoom's network instead of copper lines, then move users to Zoom Phone over time.
- Uses a gateway or Zoom's bring-your-own-carrier options
- Assessed case by case
Fax lines
Medical, legal, real estate, insurance
Keep your fax number. Either plug your fax machine into an adapter tuned for fax, or drop the machine and receive faxes as email through Zoom.
- We test send and receive before cutover
Door phones, intercom & paging
Front doors, gates, shops, warehouses
A video door phone that rings your desk and cell and can unlock the door. Overhead paging through existing speakers. Intercom between desks.
- Grandstream GDS door phone about $396
- Algo paging adapter about $408
Lobby, break room & shop phones
Phones nobody owns
A shared phone on a cheaper common-area license that can dial extensions and 911 and is locked down from long-distance.
Call queues & small call centers
Service desks, dispatch, reservations
Callers wait in line with music and position announcements while calls go to the next free person. Supervisors can listen in, whisper or barge. Larger teams can move up to Zoom Contact Center.
New, toll-free & vanity numbers
Marketing lines, tracking numbers
Add a local number in another city, an 800 number or a separate number per ad campaign so you know which ones ring.
- Extra numbers about $5/month each
Integrations
CRM, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Google
Click-to-call and automatic call logging in Salesforce, HubSpot and others. Zoom Phone can also be the dial tone inside Microsoft Teams.
Before you switch
What VoIP needs from you
These are the three things that matter most. We check all of them during the free line review.
- Internet that stays up. Each call uses about 100 kbps each way. Almost any broadband is fast enough; stability matters more than speed.
- Power during an outage. A battery backup on your modem, router and network switch keeps phones working through short outages. The mobile app works on cellular when the internet is out.
- A registered 911 address. Every phone gets a registered location so 911 calls go to the right dispatch center with the right address.
